First Look: David Tennant In 'Fright Night'
Yep, they are remaking the horror classic, Fright Night. Get your first glimpse of David Tennant as his character, Peter Vincent, (above)! I can hardly tell that's him. What do you think?
Fright Night is directed by Craig Gillespie and also stars Anton Yelchin (Star Trek), Imogen Poots (28 Weeks Later), and also Colin Farrell (who is also slated for the Total Recall remake)! So does this film really need to be retold, or is this just another Hollywood remake flop?

1st Official On-Screen Pic of James Franco in 'Rise of The Apes'
James Franco has been busy of late. Outside of hosting the Oscars this Sunday night, he has earned lots of recognition for his recent film 127 Hours (the film has been nominated for 'Best Picture' category, and the actor himself has earned a nomination for 'Actor in a Leading Role') at the awards.
It is also rumored that Franco will also play the wizard in the upcoming Sam Raimi directed, Oz: The Great and Powerful. But there is tons of anticipation on his (apetastic)upcoming flick- Rise of the Apes- the story will be a prequel /origin story to the popular franchise Planet of the Apes.
Franco, plays scientist Will Rodman, whose experiments on the ape Caesar (Andy Serkis) will lead to apes with prescience, and, eventually to the war between mankind and apes over world domination. Apparently this film will depart from the original, in that the apes will be CG.
JoBlo debuted this first look. What do you think about this movie? Do you think CG apes will work? I am totally psyched to see this ape apocalypse film!

Guillermo Del Toro To Do Stop-Motion 'Pinocchio'
![]() |
via Deadline |
Guillermo del Toro, along with The Jim Henson Company and Pathe are scheduled to shoot a 3D stop motion animated adaptation of the fairytale Pinocchio. According to an exclusive from Deadline, this film will be much edgier than the previous Disney adaption.
The concept design is based on an illustrated 2002 book by Gris Grimly (who will also co-direct along with Mark Gustafson).
No surprise here that the storyline has come from del Toro (along with frequent collaborator, Matthew Robbins). Robbins will also be the scripwriter. Del Toro will co-produce alongside Jim Henson Company's Lisa Henson and Jason Lust, and Allison Abbate. Gary Ungar will be executive producer, along with Pathe's Francois Ivernel and Cameron McCracken.
When asked about the darker take on this much loved story, del Toro said "There has to be darkness in any fairy tale or children's narrative work, something the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Anderson and Walt Disney understood," he went on to say "We tend to call something Disney-fied, but a lot of people forget how powerfully disturbing the best animated Disney movies are, including those kids being turned into donkeys in Pinocchio."
