1st Novelization of 'The Walking Dead'

In between seasons, what is a Walking Dead zombie fan to do?  Go out and get yourself this novelization of the Robert Kirkman franchise, that's what!

Rise of the Governor, which will be penned by Kirkman himself, as well as horror novelist, Jay Bonansinga (Stoker), will be the first in a trilogy. Amazon describes it as follows:

Following in the footsteps of the New York Times bestselling graphic novels and the record-breaking new television show, this debut novel in a trilogy of original Walking Dead books chronicles the back story of the comic book series greatest villain, The Governor.
In the Walking Dead universe, there is no greater villain than the Governor. The despot who runs the walled-off town of Woodbury, he has his own sick sense of justice: whether it's forcing prisoners to battle zombies in an arena for the townspeople's amusement, or chopping off the appendages of those who cross him. The Governor was voted "Villain of the Year" by Wizard Magazine the year he debuted, and his story arc was the most controversial arc in the history of the Walking Deadcomic-book series. Now, for the first time, fans of The Walking Dead will discover how the Governor became the man he is, and what drove him to such extremes.

What do you think? Will you be reading this one?

Doctor Who Series 6 Airs Tonight; One Of The Four Leads 'Marked For Death'

We here at RaiderJane have been counting down for months in anticipation to the new series of Doctor Who.  Well the waiting is nearly over. Only 12 hours until the premiere of the series 6 of Doctor Who airs tonight on BBC One and BBC America.

Synopsis, taken from daemonstv.com:
"four envelopes are received, numbered 2, 3, and 4, each containing a date, time and map reference, unsigned, but in TARDIS blue. Who sent them?  And who received the missing number one? This strange summons reunites the Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy (Karen Gillan), Rory (Arthur Darvill) and River Song (Alex Kingston) in the middle of the Utah desert and unveils a terrible secret the Doctor's friends must never reveal to him. 'Space 1969' is their only clue, as their quest lands them-quite literally- in the Oval Office, where they are enlisted by President Nixon himself to assist enigmatic former- FBI agent Canton (Mark Sheppard) in saving a terrified little girl from a mysterious spaceman."

And if that isn't enough, according to bleeding cool, Doctor Who Magazine claims that one of the 11th Doctor's 4 main characters is going to be killed off in the first episode!  That's right, dead.  Click here to see the above magazine cover and 3 alternates.

So who will it be? The Doctor (Matt Smith), Amy (Karen Gillan), Rory (Arthur Darvill) or River Song (Alex Kingston)?  No matter who it is, this'll be a sad episode for fans of the show. Who do you think's days are numbered?

Doctor Who, series 6, airs tonight on BBC One/BBC America, 9 ET/6 Central

Game of Thrones, HBO's adaptation of George R.R. Martin's fantasy series A Song of Ice and Fire airs on April 17.

The documentary injects quite a bit of backstory and introduces the characters. It is a handy tool in knowing what's going on in the series.  Primarily, though, Game of Thrones is a political story about several warring lords who desire the throne in a fictional world/kingdom.  Take a look below.

Check out the Exciting New Extended Trailer for Doctor Who, Season 6

Yet again, we have another trailer (this time extended) for the upcoming season of Doctor Who. This one brought to us via BBC America.  Do you think eventually we'll get the full thing?

This trailer's focus is on the 2-part season opener "The Impossible Astronaut" and "Day of The Moon" which finds the Doctor(Matt Smith) and his companions in 1960's America.

Apparently the brilliant and idiosyncratic actor, Mark Sheppard (Supernatural, Battlestar Galactica)also stars, though in what capacity it is not clear.  We also view more from the Oval Office, the captivating River Song (Alex Kingston)- really just what is her relationship with the Doctor?!  The trailer also gives a closer look into the aliens. Check out the extended trailer below:

These teaser trailers are really doing the job.  I am truly psyched about this season. How about you?

First Look at 'Torchwood: Miracle Day' Poster

The next season of Torchwood is set to premiere in July.  Check out this new rockin' poster that was just released.

According to Russell T Davies, the show's creator and executive producer, the show is going to revolve around the premise that "death has ceased to exist", which would obviously cause some major problems in population. Not sure how it will be tied back to the time rift/alien storyline.  Perhaps it will be the aliens who will have introduced a new disease or the humans have somehow become immune to death. No matter, this show is going to be simply awesome.

Torchwood: Miracle Day premieres July 8th, on Starz. Don't miss it!
