Arcade Fire wins Grammy Album of The Year
Arcade Fire wins Grammy Album of the Year at Sunday night's 53rd annual Grammy Awards. They beat out Eminem, Lady Antebellum, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry.
The band hails from Montreal, Canada and is led by husband and wife Butler and Regine Chassagne (both singers). There are five other members including, Will Butler, Tim Kingsbury, Sarah Neufield, Jeremy Gara, and Richard Reed Parry.
Their second album, Suburbs, has sold 400,000 copies and reached number one in both the U.S. and Canada. They're signed to Merge Record label- the only album of the year nominee NOT signed to a major label.
This is a wonderful win for the little guy. The band just happens to have a lot to say in the realm of socio-political commentary, so check this awesome album out! Congrats guys on a wonderful album and win!
