'Any Human Heart' mini-series airs tonight on PBS
PBS Masterpiece Series' ambitious mini-series, Any Human Heart airs tonight on PBS. The tv mini-series is based on the novel, Any Human Heart: The Intimate Journals of Logan Mountstuart, by Scottish author, William Boyd. Boyd also penned the television adaptation and the story revolves around protagonist, Logan Mountstuart's life; spanning the defining moments of a century.
As something of a play boy of the time the war correspondent and novelist mixes with the celebrities and expats of the time- including having a drink with Hemingway, "initiated into intrigue" by Ian Fleming, invovled in philanderous affairs with various novelists and artists, and finding himself involved in the imbroglio of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor's affairs.
Logan is played at three junctures in his life- played by Sam Claflin, as the young Logan, Matthew Macfadyen (Little Dorrit) and Jim Broadbent (The Black Adder ).
Any Human Heart also stars Kim Cattrall (My Boy Jack), Gillian Anderson (Bleak House) and Hayley Atwell (Mansfield Park).
Part 1 airs tonight on PBS (check local listings).
